This project included the addition of 215 new luxury hotel rooms, conference center, an elaborate lobby lounge and bar, a full spa and outdoor pool, a 4-level covered parking structure for 1,100 vehicles. The resort's most prominent design feature is an illuminated copper dome topping the 10-story hotel. The two-story steel framed dome structure is supported by the roof level post tensioned slab. The dome is built out of perforated copper and houses color-changing LED lights. The dome emasures 26 feet in diameter, 26 feet tall, and weighs 11,000 pounds. More than $1.2 million was saved by changing the foundation system and the spans of the hotel plates, as well as reducing construction time.
