The Pimara Paul Koehler structural engineering team has extensive experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM). We center our approach to the utilization of BIM on our desire to maintain the value of the project, initiate effective collaboration, and achieve structural accuracy. During the course of the of the 1990's PPK designed over $10,000,000,000 in advanced technology facilities and three dimensional models were required to integrate the structural design with the architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and process piping. This early experience provided PPK engineers an opportunity to be on the cutting edge of 3D technology. Currently, our engineers utilize the most up to date software and state-of-the-art equipment including: Revit® Structure; AutoCAD; ADAPT Structural Concrete Software System; Etabs; Ramsteel; and most recently ArchiCAD. The integration of our structural analysis software with REVIT software applications creates a great avenue for project information to be more complete and provides necessary information for accurate cost estimates, and verification of interdisciplinary design. All projects receive careful attention from our design team with a 100 percent BIM structural model which then integrates into our structural analysis software for modeling and verification. We have the ability to incorporate models from different engineering disciplines and perform clash detection. Visualizations and simulations are also part of the REVIT modeling process. As technology progresses our team at PPK has been dedicated to evolving with it.
